Enjoyed what you wrote about Jason Ringenberg, Andy, as well as your musings about Illinois' rich country music history.
The Playlist was a delight. From classics such as Bible and a Gun, to history stories Freedom Rides, Tuskeege Pride and I rode with Crazy Horse, to God Bless the Ramones, and all the rest, Jason and the Scorchers were, as you wrote, pioneers of alt-country.
I will be honest, I never figured out how many alt-country songs were country, but I knew from the first I loved this music.
Thankfully, this music can now be found on satellite radio. Thanks for shining a light on central Illinois' Jason Ringenberg, Jason and the Scorchers and alt-country.

What a delightful read about a new-to-me artist from my home state. Looking forward to listening to his music! Great piece, Andy.
